"A” to “Amazing Grace” in 8 Weeks is the introductory part of a three-part Bagpipe Bootcamp program that teaches students to play pipe tunes musically and cleanly and, if students want to continue past the introductory course, to play the Great Highland Bagpipes.
"A” to “Amazing Grace” in 8 Weeks consists of eight ½-hour lessons at $25 per lesson, and all a student needs is a practice chanter and to be able to devote 15 minutes a day to practicing the material assigned each week. For truly motivated students who can fit in a second practice session on some days, Bonus Materials are also provided that will speed up the learning process and make playing more consistently accurate and more enjoyable.
There is a Part 2 and a Part 3 to Bagpipe Bootcamp for pipers who have successfully completed Part 1, the "A" to "Amazing Grace" course. After completing all three Parts, piping students will be able to play Scottish, Irish and other traditional Bagpipe tunes on the Great Highland Bagpipes musically with a steady, well-tuned and balanced bagpipe sound and with clean technique. Such students would then be ready to perform in public in a band or on their own as a soloist.
"A” to “Amazing Grace” in 8 Weeks was developed by an instructor who has undergraduate and graduate degrees in music, taught instrumental music for many years in New Jersey public schools, is a top level competitor in the Eastern United States Pipe Band Association, and has taught local pipe bands and individual students for many years. This method was developed over those many years with students of all ages and has been proven to be effective in producing satisfied, musical pipers who sound good and enjoy playing.
Again, all one needs is a good quality practice chanter, the ability to receive and read .pdf files and sound files via email, a Skype address if not local to New Jersey, and the ability to devote at least 15 minutes a day to practicing to be successful at this course. This is the ideal gift for someone to has always wanted to try the bagpipes but could not findthe time or a quality instructor. What a great birthday gift, or stocking stuffer!
